The area can be considered to have been founded in 1607, when Christopher Newport and his fleet landed in present day Virginia Beach and settled into and created a vast harbor community. The first official settlement and city of The 757 was Jamestown. Since this point, The 757 has been continually recognized as a prominent place of naval/military interaction, industry, and commerce.
